My feet dangling in the calm current, my eyes focused on the horizon- just waiting… waiting, shimmers of the sun reflecting gracefully in the morning ambiance. First a rumble in the background and then suddenly..... it's there, the horizon rears its head perfectly in anticipation, it begins to roll forward carrying all its weight swiftly, effortlessly without a sound - gathering it's momentum bearing down on me.

Slowly I lie down, rotating in a single unbroken movement, searching for the right moment. First one stroke then another ..... and another, I begin to move, poised, prepared and unprepared, fearless yet afraid.
Its face rears up in spectacular symmetry, the waiting the anticipation, the moment is now. With a final pull, rising up higher and still higher, surging forward with all intention, the sound of kissed water in my ears - this is the moment, I will be flying with the horizon............
